Chemical properties:
Colorless needle like crystals, slightly soluble in cold water, ethanol, and ether.
Usage: Benzotriazole is mainly used as a water treatment agent, metal rust inhibitor, and corrosion inhibitor.
Benzotriazole is one of the most effective corrosion inhibitors for copper and copper alloys in cooling water systems.
Widely used as a circulating water treatment agent, rust preventive oil, and lipid product, as well as a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor and lubricant additive for copper and copper alloys.
Used for surface purification of silver, copper, and zinc in electroplating, it has an anti discoloration effect.
Usage: Used in extreme pressure industrial gear oil, hyperbolic gear oil, anti-wear hydraulic oil, oil film bearing oil, lubricating grease and other lubricating greases.
It can be used as a rust inhibitor and vapor phase corrosion inhibitor.
Benzotriazole is commonly used in anti rust oil (grease) products, as a vapor phase corrosion inhibitor for copper and copper alloys, as a circulating water treatment agent, automotive antifreeze, photographic antifogging agent, polymer stabilizer, plant growth regulator, lubricating oil additive, UV absorbers, etc.
This product can also be used in conjunction with various scale inhibitors, bactericidal and algal agents.
Widely used for corrosion inhibition and rust prevention of copper and silver equipment.
It can also be used for the preparation of photographic anti dust, anti fog agents, and vapor phase rust inhibitors.
Usage: Used for surface purification of silver, copper, and zinc in electroplating, with anti discoloration effect. Benzotriazole (BTA) forms covalent and coordination bonds with copper atoms, and the phase replaces each other into a chain like polymer. It forms a multi-layer protective film on the surface of copper, preventing oxidation and reduction reactions, hydrogen gas generation, and corrosion protection. It also has the same effect on metal materials such as lead, cast iron, nickel, zinc, etc. BTA can be combined with various corrosion inhibitors to improve the corrosion inhibition effect.
It can also be used in combination with various scale inhibitors, bactericides, and algal killers, especially for enclosed circulating cooling water systems. In automotive antifreeze ethylene glycol and water, the addition of BTA in coatings can volatilize the protective material. BTA is a good ultraviolet light absorber, which can stabilize products sensitive to ultraviolet light, such as preventing the fading of diazo dyes. Using BTA to treat thin products such as paper, woven fabric, film, metal coins, etc. can prevent discoloration. During mechanical processing, adding BTA to grinding oil and cutting oil can ensure that the processed copper parts do not change color.
This product can also be used as an analytical reagent, in combination with ammonia water and diaminetetraacetic acid, for selective determination of silver, copper, and zinc.
It can also be used as an anti fog agent for photography and an intermediate for organic synthesis.
Used as an analytical reagent and photographic antifogging agent, as well as as as a lubricant additive for organic synthesis purposes; Metal deactivator; Extreme pressure agents, bacteria, and oxidation inhibitors, used as antioxidants in internal combustion engine oils
